Background Checks

WHY CONDUCT A BACKGROUND CHECK

There are several reasons to conduct a background check that are not listed here.  Call us if you have questions on any other background check you may need.  Here is a few of the most requested types of background checks requested here at Peak Investigations, based in Phoenix, Arizona.  Background checks and background investigations are similar, but the background check usually relies on database results and the background investigation delves into the subjects’ lives, including interviewing people who are somehow related in substance to the subject of the investigation.

  1. Pre-Employment
  2. Litigation ( Pre-litigation and During Litigation )
  3. When children may be at risk
  4. Relationship issues

PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND CHECK

Hiring a new employee is always a gamble. Is this person right for the job?  Will this person be reliable and perform the task I need?  Will hiring this person work out or will I be looking for another in a few months. You want your business to succeed and grow. Having good and reliable employees is a vital part of your business and its growth.

Finding the right employee can be a challenge.  If you want to be sure about your selection you may want to have a background check done.  Information you may find out about job applicants could be money owed, i.e. significant debt issues, criminal backgrounds, or unrevealed aliases. a background investigator will also check for discrepancies on the employee’s resume, his/her skill set, and background. Any of these discrepancies could lead to employee fraud.

LITIGATION ( Pre-litigation and During Litigation )

You will want to conduct a background check before filing any type of litigation.  You’ll want to know if the defendant in your case has the assets to satisfy the judgment.  You’ll also want to know where these assets are.  Especially when you are looking for a monetary award from the court.  Many of these assets can be found by a private investigator through database checks, surveillance, and trips to the courthouse. Assets such as real property and businesses where the defendant may be used to hide money from you.   Your attorney may have to subpoena bank records to find bank records and similar assets, due to strict laws.

If you are one of those people who did not think to hire a private investigator prior to litigation, you defendant probably will claim poverty and not able to pay.  You’ll need a private investigator to conduct the same background check before the court makes a judgment.  It could be too late to introduce your evidence.

WHEN CHILDREN MAY BE AT RISK

If you think any children are at risk, you must call the police!!  No exceptions!  You should also call the local child protection services!!   In the event that you do call the authorities and they don’t act or find evidence you know is there, this is a good time to call a private investigator.  This is not an excuse for the authorities, but sometimes they just don’t act or perform in their duties as they should.

The private investigator can conduct the proper investigation, collect the proper evidence, and provide the report to you and the police.  This investigation is very common in divorce cases when one parent is ordered by the court to keep a certain person away from the children but does not comply with the court order.
